Fair price for that car is between 7 and 10K. Provided there are no rust/damage issues you don't see in the pics. I would be concerned about overheating too. Theres no fan shroud on that rad. Lack of shroud means "Gets hot in traffic" Looks like the hard part is done though. Good luck and let us know how you make out...
These are the pictures of the car that I had on my other computer. The date stamp on the pictures was 2006/04/27. @Stefan Is that is a Quebec "Dealer" plate?
Here is a thread that was started (by me) a little over a year ago. http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/1973-grabber-in-monteal-quebec-canada.106404/#post-1077831
@SelfishCaesar Dealer is open from 10 - 6 Monday - Friday or by appointment. I will go see the car Saturday morning.
Ok, Thanks! I thought it looked like a "D", and our Dealer plates in New Brunswick all start with "D".
X plates in Quebec can also be a loaner plate such as for a plate for a body shop loaner. But holy cow, I just saw a Quebec X plate in Alberta yesterday. Think the guy drove that loaner clear across the country? Why not? PS. Sorry for the highjack! MD
I went to see the car, which according to the VIN is not a Grabber . It is owned by the salesman who also runs/owns the the dealership and he said that he bought it two years ago from a wholesaler and has put about 2000 miles on it. The car is in a showroom so I was not able to start it, but the salesman said that it needs a good tuneup and as a result it runs hot. When the engine is hot, the car will not start up again until the engine cools down sufficiently. In the past two years, the carb was replaced, transmission was rebuilt and the differential was replaced. The body looks to be solid (although I did not lift the carpet) and from a distance the paint looks good but as you get closer you can see some of the blemishes. There is some over spray and the door data plate was sanded off before being repainted. The interior is nice and the seats have been nicely reupholstered but the backing on the passenger sear is missing. The headliner is in great shape and the dash pad has a leather like cover. The car has the AC vents but the blue heater control panel does not have the AC option and does not match the black interior. The trunk and the trunk seals look to be in good condition. The salesman said that the cowl does not leak however there is a leak around the doors.
