Didn't know there was a club for Bobcat owners. I had a really clean '78 when I was in the Navy, of course that was in '83 so I guess it was only 5 years old. Great little car though.

You are a ' blessed ' man ! Most of these cars have problems in the cowl areas. You may want to vacuum the debris out of the ' inner ' areas of the cowl and then spray a liberal coating of OSPHO ..( You can find it @ Ace Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot . etc. etc. ) and it's not expensive . Spray it FULL STRENGTH .. Don't dilute it . It will stop the
rusting and provide protection for quite awhile . Another approach is to remove both fenders .. and inspect the Drain
Areas to see if they're clogged with debris .. if so .. Vacuum .. and apply more OSPHO ...It's not that difficult to get the fenders off .. and you"ll be able to see the drains when removed and also use a 'long - skinny ' probe to remove any loose debris and trash which may be sitting on the shelf . We've done extensive repairs on Cowl Areas on many cars and it's worth the effort if you're planning on working the car up . Just my two cents pal.

It's probably NOT your rubber windshield gasket . Try pouring it INTO the cowl area ONLY .. Sometimes the inner
cowl has almost imperceptible small holes which allows water to enter more slowly than if the holes were larger.\
