Oh, that just sucks. Sorry to hear about the damage Dan. All the damage should be covered by insurance. Might want to check your policy just to be sure.
Very sorry to hear about your car. Hope all goes well with the repairs Fay dropped about a half dozen inches of rain here with bad wind gusts on Friday, no damage, though. I was off work that day and did not venture outside. Hunkered down, as they say, and waited it out. Jim
Sorry to hear that Dan. Another reason I put my hood down when it get's windy. Makes the drilled hinges sound better all the time.
Yeah ... my fault partially ... it was windy all day I should have had it down ... there were other cars that left theirs down because of the wind. Just took that one big gust to lift it up off the rod ..
...If you had been...driving it...the hood would have been down.. as i have said before..."little more driving... lot less parking... on a possitive note...It couldn't have happened to a nicer car... ...hope that helps your pain... DFF
Maybe we should try to devise some type of clip that would lock the prop rod to the hood to keep something like this from happening in the future. A lot of late model vehicles have clips that hold the rod to the radiator support. I bet we can find one that would work for this with little or no modification.
