Been eagerly awaiting photos of this event for weeks. Thanks for posting! Looks like a wonderful time being had by all. Is that a record Mav turnout this year?
I do believe we set a record with the number of Maverick/Comets in attendance. Fun was had by all. The 1st picture was all of us staging to start the cruise. Was great to see everyone again & meet new friends... Of course "Tow Mater" made an appearance. All I could hear in my head, while taking the pictures, was Larry the Cable guys voice...LOL Great job on the person who built it...
Congratulations Bev (Grabbergirl719) on winning a trophy at the Colby Cruise ,to be the only Canadian and the only Maverick to win,you must be proud. You and your car make our Hobby look great, its great that Mavericks and Comets are getting the recognition they deserve .Bev your car is beautiful but not as beautiful as its owner .Congrats Jimmy P.S you might need a cabinet for all thoughs trophies ,lol
Thank you so much for posting these pics! I wanted to go so badly! and i had saved up for it also. But times got hard and i had to help my family with their situation... But someday i will make it up there
Wow Bev ,I had now idea that out of Over 550 cars ,you won a best of show trophy, congrats ,you and your car are making the Maverick /Comet community Proud .Well done
yes Bev did us all very proud! nice to know where getting recognized for all the hard work people have put in there mav's/comets!!!! picked by the Seattle Rod Tiques! (host club) way to go!!!
Wow I never would have quessed that at a show that big a Maverick would even stand a chance of winning but I guess with the showing that we had I think they realized that hey those are nice cars. Congratulations Bev I am really sorry now that I left early but had quite a few hours to drive. I am really glad that you made the trek down to attend the show as well as I am glad everybody braved the weather and stuck it out. Bev also won second place in the trivia contest, Cliff brought home 1st place in it just barely beating her out. So she is just not another pretty face she knows her stuff as well. I really enjoyed seeing the friends that I had previously met and meeting the new comers. I almost ended up coming home with a sweet Black 70 Grabber but thats another story. My car performed beautifully on the cruise with no heating issues that some of us suffered from last year so that made me feel good, lots of stop and wait and go driving on a new set up so I was a little nervous but never got above 180, gotta love those aluminum radiators
What a great show and weekend. It was fun meeting everyone and enjoyed all the time hanging out, eating, Dancing, Eating and did I mention eating. Great job Bev on the trophy and a beautiful car. There were lots of great looking mavs and I was incouraged by the young guys and their pasion. Keep up the good work. There seems to more local mavs that hopefully will make it next year. Those that didn't make it missed out on Elvis's appearance. I look forward to more get togethers. btw, there were about 565 cars in attendance. Good job everyone.
Congrats Bev! Just goes to show, the Mavericks & Comets are starting to get recognized. I'm sure with the big turnout we had, it caused everyone there to take a hard look. Then say, hey! Those are some nice cars. Even look good as a muscle car, even though they were never considered muscle cars of the era. Was an awesome turnout, for our 3rd annual cruise. Very nice to meet new friends & see old friends. Good time was had by all.
Here is a link to video from the cruise night, it's a little long but all the cars are in it at one point or another and gives you an idea of the caliber of show it was [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBraHps-rNM&NR=1"]YouTube- Cruise to Colby pt 4[/nomedia]
