yup, well worth the effort. it's something that ive been wanting to do for a long time and just now got around to doing it... in the colder weather of course
i know exactly what you mean. it seems like its either the hottest or coldest days that you end up out in a field stripping a comet for parts...
Crap you must be fast, it took me a week and a half to do mine. Of course 4 of those days I was waiting for new spring perches to come in from ebay because the bushings on the ones I pulled off were s#it. And the other 6 days I was stuck at work.
it looks good right now, i'd give it a week before doing anymore cutting. you can always cut more off later
Looks great, how does it feel handling wise now? Im assuming its a little bumpier since you dont have all the absorption you used to have...but also cornering and maneuvers are a lot easier since you have a much lower center of gravity.
it does corner better, i noticed it right off hand around some of our county roads. the ride itself as always been a bit bumpy given the size of the wheels and tires. i had it in my mind to give it some time to make sure it didnt come down any more, but when it's all said and done, im thinking maybe another inch
Leave it alone Dave...It looks good and it may settle a bit more with time.(I know the Sprint did)took about a month.Besides with those mondo tires/rims...Drop it a little more and its probably gonna rub around corners when/if you hit a bump/uneven pavement.
I'd leave it just like it is. When I did mine, I cut one coil. I still had the 225-70 15's on the front, and they cleared just fine. After a couple of weeks, it had settled enough that I had a scrub when I turned. 215-60-15's solved that problem....
