Not that I have seen. I have used aircraft stripper on boomerangs, sport lamp bezels and sport mirrors without problems.
another thing to consider about using stripper is the door jams, hood jam and trunk jam. I would tape these cracks up and finish the edges with a DA, it is a very messy job if you get it where it is hard to get out. Really, stripping is not that bad if you plan. I like to buy a 20' X 25' sheet of plastic from wal mart and put the car on that and when you're done you wad it up and throw it away. Definately like to get down to the original paint at least. Usually the original paint is a pretty good foundation to start with and if not....bare metal baby.
Something i have noticed is that you cant use stripper after you started sanding, i'm using a mouse sander with 40 grit and its working great. They have cheap sanders for about $10 that will hold up,i got mine as a x-mas present, and the 40 pack of sandpaper cost $4 at Homedepot.
i'm guessing the way that works is....you hold the mouse by it's tail and as it is trying to get away it scratches the paint off . how often do you have to replace the mouse? wouldn't a "cat sander" holding it the same way be faster? ...somebody stop me... ... ...
I like these guys, because they don't load up. I'm going to get something similar to this for my car. http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/mediawebserver.dyn?6666660Zjcf6lVs6EVs66SsRMCOrrrrQ-#search=%223m%20paint%20removal%20damage%20metal%20without%22
