Progress update.... Here are some more pics that Jean sent over. They're getting closer and closer to final paint. I'm very impressed with their level of detail, and for not cutting corners. From what I can tell, they pretty much treat the cars they work on as if they were their own. This project is getting closer and closer to the black and silver Stallion that I loved as my first car. Can't wait till it's done (but are these projects really ever "done".... lol). I'm working out the details to have Fred Carello recover the seats & door panels. I've heard he does excellent work, so I'm pretty excited about that as well. If it all works out, I'm going to meet him at Spring Carlisle, drop off the seats, and pick up the shinny new "Stallion" from the Dolls all in one trip....
Engine refurb.... Since they pulled the engine, I decided to have them paint it as well. It will be nice to be able to open the hood next time I take it to a car show....
Oh yeah, I'll have stuff to do, lol. The lower dash will need to be installed, as well as all of the interior needs attention. I'll be putting the bumpers back on, and right now I'm trying to figure out how I can buff out some original Maverick slotted wheels. The wheels have a lot of scraps and scratches along the edges, I've been sanding and filing already, but I've got a long way to go. Overall I'm not even sure if I'll have the car "road ready" until late summer at best, but it's all part of the process....
Out of curiosity if you dont mind...how much will you be coughing up for all of this great work? I want to strt saving up now
