damper

    74 302 blown- 68 Shelby Gt 500- 69 Cougar XR7 428 ram air
    Checked the damper position today - still looking for that ignition problem. Damper SFI- is at 330* at tdc so 0* represents 30* advance. It will get a total of 40* . Is this possible? Is the damper not keyed to the crank? Why would someone install it this way on a blower motor?

    69 1/2, 70 Maverick and 71 Grabber
    Small block Fords used different timing pointers over the years. 10, 11 and 2 o'clock. Perhaps you have a mismatched parts condition. Most aftermarket dampers are setup with multiple marks.
