The one on my '72 was on my '74 when I bought it. According to a previous owner of the car, the cap has been in the car since the early 90's. The car has never been garaged since the cap has been on it and the cap is still holding up great. A little warped, but you don't notice it unless you really look at it hard. I've had several people say something about how nice my dash looks. They are always surprised when I tell them it's a cap. Hell, I never realized it was a cap myself until about 3 weeks after I bought the car. It's not glued down and never has been.
I glued my first one down, and it cracked. The second one is not glued, and it is fine, no cracks or warps. Dan may be right, don't glue them down!
the company is accu-form in hurricane utah but i tried to find their site to see if we could order direct, maybe some here can locate it and we could eliminate the middle man he told me he pays less than 40 for them
ronr11, Maybe this is it. I called and left a message for them to return my call. If they do then that says something about their customer service. At least BEFORE a sale. Accu-Form Plastic Manufacturing 460 North 2460 West, Hurricane, UT 84737 (435) 635-9273 I will call them later and see what the costs are and will post accordingly. I am just trying to help out, I am not trying to hijack the thread or bogart somebody elses idea here.
probably time change , hope you can work it out, may have to tell them your a dealer etc or maybe wayne can get them with his business , downside they are a b%&h to box and ship
I got mine on too....I am not glueing it either.... different reasons....until I get another one I can switch this one from the 2 cars, depending on my needs and have a clean dash....they fit like a glove and I see no reason to glue.
man if I can help with this then let me know, I have several suppliers of items so maybe they would let me order them.
thanks wayne as you can see roy called yesterday not sure if they called him back yet it will probably take someone with a tax number to become one of their dealers i tried form here in hartsville and they said they already had someone in my zip
ya they come form some partstores and ebay etc we're trying to eliminate the middleman and buy in bulk
Dash Caps And Accu Form Okay ya'll, I just spoke with Accu form and they said that we can get them for $27.37 each if we order 25-30 of them. If we order over $1,000 worth of product, the shipping is free to wherever in the United States they would need to send it to. Just to get a feeling for what shipping would be from UTAH I asked them about shipping to 23503 (VA) for just one cap and they stated it would be $32.51 and they use FEDEX. I also inquired about them using someone other than FEDEX and they said they would research it. The issue with using someone other than FEDEX was the fact that these may/are considered "oversize" packages to ship. So, with that being said, we would need to find someone centrally located that would be willing to accept the order and be willing to ship the caps to whomever wanted and paid for one. $27.37 X 37 dash caps = $1,012.69 / We would have to have the board get together and order AT LEAST 37 caps in order to get the initial FREE SHIPPING from Accu Form. I think that whoever decides to take this on should charge the board members $35 + shipping for one as to make it somewhat "worth their while" and to also keep the price at a manageable level for the rest of us. Also Any thoughts on the $35 price being too high? Right now they only have 5 in inventory. Sounds to me like a DONE DEAL :Handshake
i'd like another one. if we do this the money needs to be sent up front to whoever is going to do it. that's a lot of $$$ for 1 person to anti up. and i'm sure ron will let you know it's a bit of work too. question is can we get 37 people to commit to this.
