Somebody refresh my memory--on a GM Delco alternator, where do the wires from the plug go, no.s 1 & 2? I know the stud is 12+ to the battery. I remember one of the wires on the plug went to the dash light, and can't remember where the other went Where is the Ford factory wire for the Alt light? I seem to remember that you have to use the light in series with one of the wires from the plug to make it charge, been a while since I have done this and the old memory ain't what it used to be....

If I connect #1 blade terminal to batt 12v+ stud, the alternator should work without the light? Not sure if the GM alternator I have is one wire or not, just an extra I had laying around that I know was good when it was taken off....like I said, been a while since I did this mod on another vehicle....
No, put the #1 teminal to a switched 12v source, its what turns the alternator on. The #2 terminal is the sense terminal. Some will tell you its optional, and technicaly it is, but use it. Run a wire from the terminal block of the fuse block to the #2 teminal. The output of your alternator can drop a full volt if there is no remote sense wire. It tells the alternator what the voltage is at the block instead of the battery, therefore it compensates for voltage drop. This is very important for electronic ignition systems to work right.
