I work in the computer field and rarely ever look down at the keyboard when I type ... incredibly there are lots of people in my line of work that can't touch type ...

my granddaddy worked for AP for 45 years and on an old MANUEL typewriter could type 145 wpm without any mistakes, when they transmitted the news and sports they didn't have time for mistakes, he was good. like jean, I did not like typing class very much, the girls were great to look at but typing was alittle hard, we had just switched from manuel to electric typewriters so that was all new to us, thank GOD there was parking lot racing after school!!!!!

We talking average speeds? 110wpm average 100% accuracy forever or 161wpm average till my fore arms start burning then like 15wpm cause I can't type.. cursed arms :rofl2:

The fastest I ever hit was on a typing tutor program a few months ago... 229wpm for 5 words :coco:.

What really helps is that for the last 3 years I've done all my school work and homework on computers and live on the computer:rolleyes:
