Yeah, the one i used was great off idle, but it stumbled on takeoff. Again, I think a minor adjustment would have fixed that.

I have a buddy that has one that he races and likes it. But his is an older one. I have been told that the older ones infringed on Holley's patents as they used all the same emulsion tubes and settings copied directly from Holley. My understanding was that there was a lawsuit that addressed this and the Demons made after that were not as good. Maybe that's why you hear that some people love em right out of the box and some don't. Depends on how old it is. Of course this is all urban legend...I have no actual data to back it up with...just what I've heard at the local speed shop.

Hold on, your avatar describes an 80mm turbo with nitrous on a 347. You won't get "out of the box" performance no matter what you buy.

With THAT setup, you better be ready to do some serious adjustments to make it work.

Hey, hey, hey...I won't be using an out of the box carb for this motor. This one for the turbo motor has dual needles and seats on each bowl, it has a Pro-form main body with a billet base plate, billet metering blocks and brpv's. I built this one from scratch and I must say that it's my Mona Lisa!

ive heard that the demon carbs are usually rich out of the box. holley hps are susposed to be leaner than the comprable demon carb. never expect a carb to jeted correctly for your motor out of the box. there are so many variables that effect the air fuel mixture of a motor that nobody can correctly jet a carb before it goes on the motor.
if you want max performace get a demon or holey. if you like the look of the demon over the holey then get it.

I always wanted to pull the throttle shaft out of a Demon and see if they have roller bearings in them. The throttle always rotates so much smoother than a Holley I always wondered about that.
MNTony that sure sounds like a nice carb you built got any pictues of it?

That is true. It used to be the demon silver claw and gold claw. Holley match.

I owned a Road Demon 625 I never had any issues. I rebuilt it before I installed even though it was new. They tend to have some stuff left inside that should not be there after manufacturing....
