Robbie I wouldn't be scared of that crank at all. We had a cast scat 347 rotating assembly in may car until this summer when I broke the crank. It had over 600 passes shifting at 7200 going high 10's. The next one we build will have a forged crank but I don't have any complaints with the cast one other than when it let go it took out everything.
And Tony I may be at Firebird on the 3rd, just got an invite to the king of the track race. I just need to make sure I am done with all of these crazy school projects!
You can have my spot Matt. I wont be able to make it for King Of The Track. I won 2 round this year. My step daughter is graduating from Boot Camp on the 2nd so we will be back east. thanks for the info on the crank. I will be shifting @6700 so it should last a long time.
Thanksgiving weekend Wrenching fun. Anybody up for it? Probably Friday or Saturday. Bryant will be in town in Surprise visiting family and offered to come help out too but not sure what day is best yet. This may be the act of god needed for me to get my car back togethor........... weather and Wife permitting of course.
Hey Matt, I think that I'm free on the 3rd. Just let me know as time comes nearer. Ryan, I might swing by if you guys are doing something on Friday. I have plans Friday afternoon though, but I'd love to meet Bryant in person and this might be a good excuse.
Black Friday Maverick Wrenching day. I got the day off and Bryant said he can come by Friday. He is bringing me some brackets to mount the pedal and slave cylinder, What a guy. Only thing is I have to work at 530pm so I'll be wrenching from about 9am to 430pm. Anybody who wants to come by is welcome to even if its just to supervise and tell me what Im doing wrong and make fun of how long it has taken me (Gene). If your not too mean I'll order us some pizza and Im sure there are cold beverages in the garage fridge. For those who havent been to my house the address is 12589 W. Amelia Ave, Avondale Az. 85392 so you can map it.
Spent the day wrenching on Ryan's Maverick and got to meet Bryant. Had a great day! Now about that wood block under the pedal...
Not running yet. got the pedal bracket mounted and ebrake handle out after fishing it all through my mess of wires under the dash. then Gene and i bolted up the clutch stuff and stuck the T5 in place. We got the old AoD crossmember wo work with the manual trans. Im glad that worked out because i dont have the tools to make another. I still need to mount the hydraulic stuff and plumb the lines but the heavy work is done and now its the tedious technical stuff. should be done in a week or so i hope. BIG THANKS TO GENE FOR THE EXTRA MUSCLE AND TO BRYANT FOR BRINGING A BRACKET AND GIVING ME THE LOW DOWN ON HOW TO DO IT.
