Maybe we should do a group buy. I'll put in a reasonable amount for the seats and Robbie for the hood and Resto can pay what's left. Would that even work??
You guys better decide quickly, theres more Maverick lovers out here than us 10 guys. Somebody stripped down a 77 4 door at Ecology that I saw complete and fresh 2 saturdays ago, then last saturday I go back to get some goodies and its stripped of all the good stuff.
You guys will be shocked. The last couple nights I was working on my car Ive had the front of the engine off for a few weeks. I got a fuel pump eccentric from Tony last weekend so I could put it back togethor. Wed. night I got the timing cover mounted and all the front end pieces. Also mounted the reason for all this, my Holley mechanical fuel pump. I couldnt find a pump I liked that didnt need a regulator. But I had already stripped off all my old fuel system. I wanted as clean of a fuel system as I could do. Didnt want hoses going back and forth to the fenderwell. And I didnt want any braided hoses since thats the reason I am making changes, my old braided hoses rotted out and leaked. So without any braided or rubber hose I had to mount my regulator on the motor because I am using stainless steel tubing that wont flex. Last night I made a bracket to mount my regulator to the cylinder head. Then I used one of the hoses I had made and mocked it up. I made templates out of 5/16 brake line for the rest of the system. My friend is using my templates and his shop is bending and flaring and installing AN fittings on Jet aircraft grade stainless steal tubing. I'll probably polish up the tubes a bit and should look real nice and clean when its all done. Here's a teaser pic. This tube needs a section cut out for my 3" Earl's fuel filter with AN fittings. I should have all the hoses in hand late tonight. I'll ge ta pic of it all once its togethor.
You're right...I AM SHOCKED!!! Looks like it will be a nice clean install though! I like a clean and tidy engine bay!
Very nice ,Ryan. For some reason,I thought your car had A/C...apparently not.Sure gives a lot room in there and easy access.Glad to see it all coming together for you.
No A/C for me for a long time. The car was an A/C car but nothing under the hood for it right now, and probaly not for a while. I have the upper hoses here now but I screwed up on of the lower hoses after having it cut and flared and need to get it reflared at the shop, my flaring kit wont get this 3/8" stainless steel to flare out, its too tough.
Yahooo! I was mocking the rear end useing the 4 door and I looked up low and behold the factory tie down brackets were still there. Then as I was taking them out a friend called and wanted to buy my custom 1911 in .45. He came over and handed me the money 15 min. later. That just paid for my R&C IFS. bananamanbananaman
I got some more done today. Finished up under the hood. mounted my hydraulic reservoir. mounted the slave to the bracket. Just have to make all the hydraulic lines and put the interior back togethor and Im ready to go finally. Maybe 2 more days of work left in it. Just need to find the time.
So am I going to have to pick a time and place for a spring meet? Need to plan it atleaset 4 weeks in advance or more to make sure everybody can make it. Lets start with a list of days, beginning late february to end of March, that you CAN NOT ATTEND a meet on a saturday or sunday. Ill start. Ryan: March 24, 25
