difference between 69.5, 70 and 71

Ok I know that a 1969.5 has the key in the tray and the 1971 has the key in the column so does the 1970 have the key in the tray or column?

the key on the 70 model should be on the column, i saw one last month at the J-yard.

 

Late 1970 Mavericks have the key on the column.

 

guess i was wrong i always though that all of them had it on thew column...

Every '70 I have seen had it. I was dumb enough to pass up two of them in the junkyard a couple of years ago. The redline speedometers also have diffrent style numbers in the odometer, and the odometer has metal gears instead of plastic.

 

69 1/2 and 70 had a drop in gas tank (gas tank is the trunk floor). 71 and later tanks mount under the trunk floor.

 

wasnt '71 the first year for a v8 option? i know all the 69's had a 170 or 200 right?

69.5 has a 7.5 rear not 8

 

A ton (most?) later 1970 Mavericks had 7.5 rears also, though.
