Well today i bought a 8 inch axel from a maverick in a junk yard with a 5x51/2 bolt pattern and am thinking of putting disc brakes on it from an 96 explorer my question is, is this possible?

search the tech articles for the rear disc swap that 71gold installed..... and yes, it's very possible. BTW, you will have a 5x4 1/2 pattern. the 5x5 1/5 is the truck pattern and wasnt used on the 8" differentials to the best of my knowledge

Could have a rear end out of a early Bronco under it. It may be a 9"
