I have a set of 5 lug disc break spindals (have 4 lug on my car) that I would like to use but want to stay with drum breaks. Can 5 lug disc breaks spindals be used with drum breaks.
Nope... AFAIK other than '67 Fairlane & Mustang disc/drum spindles, all the others are specific to type brakes used.
THANKS I know why because new master cylinder and all new lines wheel cylinders shoes and everything rear and save money.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, I need a front passenger side Spindle (4 lug) for my 1970 Mavi. Thanks.
Lug count has nothing to do with spindles. Except for '69½, a drum brake spindle is a drum brake spindle. What you need to know is it a '69½ or true 1970. Even those can be swapped by using correct bearing.
Ok, I'll have to verify the date of production. So far I haven't found any that resemble exactly the spindle on my Mavi. Thanks.
For true '70, drum spindles interchange up to '74(last year of drums). Also same spindles were also used on '70-'71 Torino & Montego, plus '70 Mustang & Cougar. The 69½, interchanges with above vehicles from '69 back to '67, plus Falcon. Info from Hollander Interchange & double checked with Ford Master Parts Catalog.
