I have been having a tough time finding a needle in a haystack (aka maverick frame stands) 0529151936.jpg 0529151937.jpg
Finding these for less than $200 a set is becoming next to impossible.
I heard of a member on here using flipped I-6 frame stands with F-100 mounts.
If all else fails, I will try this trick with 1975 F-100 mounts.(10 bucks a piece)

I will try to post rear end pics soon, but it is definitely a front-loader.

Tomorrow I may be hand-scrubbing on the engine.
Hopefully with clean engine pictures to post.

Interesting, never seen a CFI fuel inj 5.0 with a roller cam, supposedly they didn't exist... Guess it could be a late '85, all the '86 had roller cams but with sequential inj... What firing order does it have??

All the '71 & '72 6cyl cars had four lug and 8" rear end(there's a '71 in my back yard)...

All the later ones had the 8" - mine is a June 70 build.

The donor lincoln 302 was an august 1985 build, I believe.

Yep! Did the 302 swap on my 70 Grabber. Had a 74 Comet 4dr as the donor car. Even did the rear axle swap with 4 leaf rear end. Also got the front manual disc brakes. Now the car has been changed from 4 lug to 5 lug. Good luck...

Any idea what heads are on that 5.0?? All the '86 with roller cams used the crappy E6 head that make great door stops... I'm thinkin' a late '85 could have the '86 long block with the '85 EFI on top... Also if it has a std 15426378 firing order, the cam probably won't make any power past 4600/4700 RPM... Even the bigger cammed SEFI '86 HO would only pull till around 5300 before falling on their face...

They probably are smog heads from factory...holes and all.
I plan on making more radical changes next spring.
For now, it will fine for a daily driver.

If the engine uses ¾" reach spark plugs, it has the poor flowing E6 heads... Of course none of the small block heads of the era are great, just the E6SE are worse than average...

Thanks for the "heads up" Krazy Comet.
I think they might be E7s.
