Why? The stock floor boards aren't even 18g.

They make patch kits for the door locks, unless you can flaten out the twisted up part.

I remember seeing them for some of the GM's but wasn't sure if they did for Fords, that's good to know.

Getting the upper hand on some of the rust. Opened up the wheel wells like Thack and GrabberGt and did the patch panels while I was at it (hacked up the replacement quarters). I moved the lower rear back about an inch so the opening would look better with the mods. Hope like hell I can make the other side match!!!

Still have some filling in to do on the back side and a ton of little welds on the outside.

You did a real nice job on the quarter panal repair :thumbs2:

My quarters need repairs in the exact same places as yours. I also bought the new replacement quarters but have since found a nice pair of original cut offs that I plan to hack up for what I need. I'll save the new ones for "just in case".

I see that you are doing away with the side markers also. I'm blocking my stock ones off too but then installing those little round Barracuda markers from the late 60's.

Looking forward to seeing more of your progress photos

Nice job. Heh.. I kind of wish I had done the same to my wheelwells instead of replacing the whole panel. would have save rebuilding the outer wheelhouse lip. :)

Thanks guys. Doing the wheel openings didn't help much on the outer wheel house, I still have to make it fit the new contour so there's still plenty of work to do on it.

Thanks to Supermav I have a few more pieces to the puzzle. I now have a decent radiator support so the old nasty one is gone!

I have a nice back up hood just in case the grabber hood turns out to be too much work. It had been punched right in the point which damaged the inner structure and pushed the middle in and up. Some where down the road it was sent to a sculpter instead of a body man so it was loaded with mud and shaped. Over time water got under the mud and we now have rust through, very light but it is there.

It's a stock flat hood but there are plenty of things that can spice them up.

It's coming out before I re-assemble the front pieces, figured with the tin out of the way it would be that much easier to pull it!

Thanks Todd, the parts I've bought from you are a huge help. Speaking of that I my be in need of a passenger side door. It looks like there may be a ton of mud in it and it's "crunchy" when you push on the front of the skin. Kind of sounds like there's a bit of rusty scale in there.

Getting closer to the final push on the front end parts. A few more rust issues some major cleaning and welding then I can prime it and move to another troubled area. I built a panel for the battery box area that will mirror the other side. I just need to take it in and have some beads rolled into itso it will match the drivers side.

Radiator support fits nicely and looks much better than what was there. I even cleaned it a little in there.:thumbs2:

It's a slow go but I'll get there.
