That's who I delt with...nice friendly gal. She actually contacted me before shipping to make sure we were on the same page. A++ Cant find the link on this computer but search "carpet question" and you can see what I got. (not installed though)
Most of the time manufactor sells at full retail. Dealers do the discounting, if manufactor did the discount then dealers would be po'd and quit selling their products! Dealt a lot with comp cams for tech advise on cams and asked if they minded I buy from my supplier, who was always cheaper, they have no problem and would prefer you bought from their dealers! Just shaggin my thoughts!
I also bought mine from New England Mustang and yes Lynn was pleasant to deal with and the quality of the Trim Parts carpet looks great.
Ed, I was overwhelmed when I saw your car...the carpet was not one of the things I was looking at. Door panels, paintjob, speakers, trunk, seats, taillights, etc. I was looking at. But didn't pay much attention to the carpet I like customer support. Would even be willing to pay more for good support. I may try Lynn out.
ACC and AutomotiveInteriors.com are your best bet, but if you can find a two-piece carpet somewhere, it's the way to go, as they fit so much better (and are what the car originally came with)...
I've used three ACC sets. The one on a 73 2 door, fit perfect. The one I used on my 77 2 door was too big over the trans hump, I added 3 layers of 1/2" carpet jute to take up the extra space, still a little loose. On my 70 it didn't fit at all between the bucket seats, about 4" of extra carpet. I have a custom console there so it hid the terrible fit. I've had similar fit problems with ACC sets for other vehicles. I am a dealer for ACC. They will make a carpet set in any of the textures or colors that they have. They will also make them in textured vinyl. At one time they offered custom fit floor mats that could be embroidered with the Maverick script. They still offer the embroidery but the mats are universal. I had sent them patterns for the 1970 which they used to make mine but they won't do any more from that pattern. Another problem I've had is with the quality of the carpet itself. On several sets light colored spots appeared after a few months. They made good on them but not on the labor involved to remove and replace the carpet. Fred
scott, i have some new carpet from acc.its for my daughters car.if you want to borrow it and test fit it in yours you can.
How does it fit in her car? I would hate to borrow it...with my luck, I would get grease on it, or catch it on fire...something stupid like that, then I would end up having to buy TWO sets of carpet Thanks anyway... I am leaning toward the "Lynn" carpet, just because the customer service sounds so good...That is important to me.
I found the website for Trim Parts, but cannot find any e-bay listings for them. Are they the same ones selling on ebay or do you buy directly from them by phone or internet?
Scott, look up 1 a auto, they had the best price on the ACC carpet I could find, I think I paid 110 plus tax and shipping, but it wasn't bad
Not all of them originally came with two piece carpets. Most of the later cars that I own have one piece carpets. These are the cut-pile carpets. However, my early cars have loop two piece carpets. The oddball is my '73 with a two-piece cut-pile carpet. I don't have any LDO cars, so I'm not sure about the thick shag-looking carpet. Either way, my wife bought me a new ACC carpet for my '73. It's a one piece cut-pile. I hope it fits well.
