It's actually pretty damn expensive, but if the quality is good, I'll suck it up & pay it.

If they could be $400, I'd buy a set, 400, 600... What's the diff? I like to try, and support the aftermarket for our cars, no support = no aftermarket.
Around here, if it's not $20 or from a junk yard, everyone craps all over it...

I wouldn't think twice at $400 for a comfort weave panel. Buy them while someone makes them.
Try buying an old set of originals for $200, then spend your whole life disappointed they're not perfect.

In my opinion, if $400 for a set of new panels is too much, then you don't want them bad enough... imagine what a set of NOS panels would sell for, if somebody even had a set

Dave, I feel the same way. Maybe when other companies that are making reproduction parts realize that there's a demand for Maverick/Comet parts then they will know what they need to do if they want a piece of this pie.

Well not everyone is wealthy, and we're talking about a couple pieces of Masonite with some thin foam backing and stitched vinyl stapled/glued over it. It's not brain surgery. I happen to like the look of the '75 - 77 stitching pattern.
$400 or more is a lot to pay just to get a pattern you like. My friend paid $180 for a custom pattern, and $50 for the Masonite panels which were from Auto Krafters. They look good, but not my first choice.

I know the '70-'74 panels are more work because of the plastic chrome and imitation woodgrain, but that's not what I'm looking for.

Frank, from Brian it sounds like it will have the chrome trim, comfort weave and wood grain options (where applicable). Also, they would have the correct pressed vinyl patterns (like the vertical lines in my Comet). But you're right, no medallions. If you have the original medallions, I guess you could always add them to the reproduced panel yourself. It seems high to me right now also, but I am sure once I see them, and with little chance of getting original ones in pristine shape, a pair of blue ones will probably be in my future. :yup:

Exactly my point, you don't want the factory look bad enough, so why complain $400 is too much? Companies aren't making maverick parts out of their own kindness just to break even. They're businesses trying to make a living off of a quality part.

If it's not brain surgery to make an oem door panel, then save yourself all the 400+ dollars and make your own lol. Heck, if they look flawless, i'll buy a couple sets. But I don't wanna pay full price for how much development, material and labor you'd have into making them.

Bottom line, these companies aren't gonna get rich off of a $400 dollar door panel. I consider the mav/comet community LUCKY as all get out that a BUSINESS would invest their time into making door panels...
