Has anyone ever had luck getting the information from Ford on the door sticker that tells you all the goodies? I just spent the last hour on and off hold with Ford customer support (I'm sure I was talking to someone in a forging country) I tried explaining what I was looking for but I don't think she understood what I was asking. I was told they had no records, then she comes back and tells me I would have to go to a dealership to have the sticker installed if I ordered it... I don't quite understand that. I have had luck with the 87 turbo coupe I had but, can't seem to find the number or email address I used to get it.
I'd say chances getting any info from Ford on a 40+ year old car would be zero & none... Marti Auto could no doubt give some of the info(for a price), but when he reproduces stickers he asks for all the info on original... Isn't a lot of info on sticker, VIN, body, color, DSO, axle & transmission codes... Max weights to be placed on front and rear axle is also listed... I don't have one on mine, as it was removed for painting and car has been modded till much of the info is no longer pertinent...
Up until a few years ago, Ford CS would give you what they had for info by the VIN. It was called a 999 report and was free. They no longer offer this service as far as I know. The 999 was nice to have but was nowhere near as accurate as a Marti report. Marti will make you a perfect looking door jamb sticker with all the correct info for your car.
Excellent, thank you guy's for the info! Does anyone have his contact information? Thanks in advance.
