Sorry, I searched and searched with no avail. I saw somewhere on here a thread where someone molded two sets of tail lights for a maverick and made a larger set with backup light in the middle. Can someone point me in the direction of this thread? I have an extra set of tail lights and want to do this mod.
Yes I know about the bobcats, and they look good, but I saw a thread where they were just two sets of maverick trail lights. If I don't have to spend more money on bobcats then I don't want to...
I could not find the post about them but Eric aka Acornridgeman is the person that did it, and yes he took 2 sets of Maverick lights and made similar to Bobcat lights
I don't think you can do better than a set of Bobcats if that is the look you are seeking. I believe using Mav lights to create the same look will be very difficult if done well and wacky if done incorrect. Just save for Bobcats. Surely you can find a nice pair for under $200.00 Here's a link to the tech article if you want to make four brake lights http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=60873
Chevy caprice tail lights are likely what you have seen. Some have a reverse lamp and they look very close to Mav light design.
Here is Acornridgemans thread. Gives you a glimpse of what it takes to fuse some tail lights. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=20165
Let me throw this out there... Bobcats (at least mine) are made of pot metal, and will be very difficult to re-chrome. Maverick lights are aluminum. So, if you get bobcats, make sure they are in pretty good shape. I am in the process of restoring mine back to a chrome look.
Every set I have ever seen were pot metal, so you guys MUST be wrong. I have only seen one set, mine Just assumed...
What I'd really like to see is one of those honeycomb taillights from a Cobra Torino on a Maverick! I think that would look cool! Of course, try and find a Cobra Torino in a junkyard!
