these are the rims I have right now: American Racing Outlaw II, 15x8 5lug with 3.75" backspacing. With the 4 leaf springs I have a little more room so I could try a little bigger tires but don't want to rub.

    My best 60ft was a 1.589 and I ran 6.97 in the 1/8 with a 347/4 speed.

    What rear end gears?
    Spool or open dif?
What was your quarter trap speed on your last run?
Remember what your tach was reading crossing the line?
    Ever had it dynoed?
Can you post a breakdown of your last track visit?

All that should help us, help you choose tire size accordingly.

And yeah, start dumping the clutch on slicks your probability of breaking stuff goes way up! Axles, u joints, drive lines, transmissions, smoking clutches. All the fun stuff. LOL:dance::drive:

don't remember the tach on the cross line
dyno was 181 at the wheels of hp and after 3500rpm I don't make any more HP according to dyno due to the weak springs I believe

Do you want to buy tires for this current combo or the 331 supercharged engine in sig?

Were you shifting into 4th at the strip or winding it out in 3rd?

    An Idea for traction bars.........

Well ya need something to help with spring wrap,so even cheap slapper bars are better than nothing, but ya cant beat some caltracs.
My Dad's old torino went 11.60's on a set of homemade slapperbars and there easy and cheap to make.

Agreed...love my Caltracs. I was still getting some pretty serious wheel hop with slapper bars.

I want to build something for the 331
I was able to shift into 4th, I ran out of power in 3rd

bryant built his own traction bar, I think he followed very similar directions, came out sweet.

slapper bars work good to me. My mustang runs 7.90's in the 1/8 with slapper bars and I have no problem with wheels hop
