Drip rail on '76 Comet 4-door base.

    76 Comet 4D - 6K30T - Silver/Blue - no power anything
    Did the drip rail on those cars have a chrome covering or were they just painted?

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    Could be either way. I would say most has the trim on them.

    They probably were a option... Since every 4dr starts as a base model, dealers likely ordered the bright rails to spiffy up the selections he had on lot... A customer order may well have passed them over...... You need a option list to really know, could well have been std one year, optional the next...

    In the late '60s & early '70s Ford published a buyer's guide or Armchair Estimator so you could figure prices at home on a new model... Looking on ebay newest I've seen is for 1973...
