On my 74 Comet 2 door 302 C4 driveshaft was 46 1/2", measured center to center of U-joint eyes.

Good to know, I have one from a V8 car and one from a six but didn't mark which one was which. Thought they would have been the same but they aren't.

Shafts for 6cyl are 1" shorter and 4dr are 7" longer than 2dr.

Shaft length does usually impress.... Occasionally scares them.. :yikes:

This prompted me to look at '70-'72

The 2dr 6cyl & V8 are listed as same at 46 5/8". The 4dr driveshafts were 53 9/16" vs 52 9/16" or 1" longer for V8 vs 6cyl. Usually 1/2" long or short makes no difference, no idea why 4dr or later models varied.

That's funny, one of mine is from a 71 V8 and the other a 72 250 six car. Both had C4 transmissions.
