Prep prep prep. Best paint money can buy wont cover a bad prep. I thought the guys were a bit fussy on mine but give it a week or so and watch the paint sink into the prep work. Glad I listened to them. Be careful what you spray over that old paint and primer. Solvents will bite right into it.
That is why I wont be too terribly upset if the paint does take 2-3 weeks to arrive. It just gives me more time to be picky about the body work. It has already come a long ways in the past week of working on it 1-4 hours a day. I took the hood off today and sand blasted the underside and got it all primed up. I am debating on doing an undercoating on it or just putting another coat of primer on and then painting it to match the rest of the car.
thats the paint i used for mine. omaha orange i also sprayed a few coats of clear coat on mine, with white and orange pearl mixed in. i am very pleased with it. so pleased that what i am useing on two of my daughters cars.
