    My dad used to get 29 hwy. in his '90 LX convertible with an automatic trans.. 18 mpg sounds like either a plugged catalytic converter, or someone with a heavy right foot..

    I had an 84 Ranger that god Christ-like mileage and was dead dependable.

    I would agree on the mileage. My 86 SVO would get 23mpg just running around town in stop and go traffic. I got 27mpg out on the highway. - Matt

    the svo has the turbo. the 84 is carbed. the 90 lx ,well thats a good sign. i just voiced my experiences. Also from reading the mustang mags back when i had mine and being on the mustang fourms i am under the impression that that they do not pull the milage that is expected. i hope that i am under the wrong impression and that a efi 2.3 mav will get at least 25mpg.

    early carb'ed 2.3 got really bad mileage,even in light cars (Pinto). I'm sure Ford improved the little engine a lot until they stopped assembling Rangers with them.

    I hope this works - because if it does, there will be many of us doing it. :D

    you're all damn right about that. I've got this feeling that it will be so good that daily drivers mavs and comets will be getting this swap done.

    Guess what came today!!! :yahoo::bananaman:2thumbs:

    Straight from Brazil! :dance: Unfortunately, the box was a little worse for wear, but thankfully everything was still in there. Just have to go to Home Depot or somewhere and get some nuts and lock washers.

    The frame mounts (rusty parts in the middle) have "PROTON 75DU-6037-A" on them.

    I can't believe I actually have a set of these! I have to give a HUGE thanks to the member "chirt", as he served as the middle man in getting these for me. It simply wouldn't have been possible for me to get ahold of these without him. (And I am stating here publicly the he is the one who helped me only after getting his permission to do so.) Obviously he, nor the guy who sent them from Brazil are responsible for the box getting damaged in the mail, it's just an unfortunate, unforeseeable occurrence. I'm just glad everything made it here in one piece.

    I will install these tomorrow and see how everything sits, and you can be sure there will be more pics of that coming tomorrow night!!
