So, I toyed with them a little today. First thing I found, was that the bolt holes on the Brazilian frame mounts don't match up exactly with the existing holes in the Maverick. You can get two of the bolts in on either side, but the third (lower inner most) hole is about a 1/4 inch off. No big deal. The frame mounts also apparently bolt on the BACK side of the shock tower instead of the front side like I6 mounts.

Second problem is, the right side engine mount hits the exhaust manifold, so it dosen't allow it to be bolted to the engine completely. It looks like a little grinding to both the mount and the exhaust manifold will provide the necessary clearance. The left side engine mount fits great, except one of the spots where a bolt goes into the block isn't drilled or tapped. The boss is there in the block, so I just gotta drill it and tap it so I can put the third bolt in.

I loosely bolted everything up, and tried to drop the engine in, but I am starting to think it isn't going to be possible to use these mounts in a '69.5 Maverick. The Brazilian mounts set the engine about 2 1/2 or 3 inches further back in the engine bay, and the engine needs to be jacked up about an inch higher to get the rubber mounts seated down in the frame mounts, but the clearence just isn't there with the smaller '69.5 transmission tunnel. The transmission is hitting up against the top of the tunnel. Next weekend I think I am going to try swapping everything over to my '73 body and see how that works. The '73 is where this is all permanently going to go anyways, I was just using the '69.5 for test fitting and figuring out the wiring.

I also toyed around with mixing and matching regular old V8 frame mounts used in conjunction with the original I6 rubber mounts and the Brazilian engine mounts. Something could definitely be made to work there, and that may be the path I take ultimately if I can't get ALL the Brazilian stuff to work right. And of course the very last ditch effort if absolutely nothing will be somewhat bolt in, will be going back and modifying the '93 Mustang mounts, which probably would have been the quickest and easiest in the first place, but hell, I'm having fun here trying all this foreign stuff.

All in all, a fun and interesting day. I do have a few pics, but they will have to wait till tomorrow afternoon. I just got home, and I'm totally beat, and have to be at work at 6 in the morning.

you'll have better luck with the 73. Remember that Mavericks didn't appear in Brazil until 1973 maybe that's why it didn't work properly. At least you got 2 choices for the swap.

    Thanks for the news Jamie!

Didn't have time to get to it this weekend. Had to pull a 5.0/AOD out of an '85 Town Car so it can be hauled off to the scrap yard next week, and been helping my brother strip his '72 Grabber to get it ready for body work. Next weekend I plan to get back on it full force.
