Air Mavtricks, if you are not using the AIR system you can simply plug the holes. We are referring to the the large threaded hole above the frost plug on the end of the heads. In some applications, a threaded insert is used on the drivers side to reduce the thread size to fit accessory bolts.
in post you said u needed 1 to block off.....im just makin sure threading a bolt in there is ok.... because of vacum leaks and such....the plug u guys are talking about would totaly close the hole
Yes, it plugs it off and is threaded on the inside so an accessory bolt can be inserted. Hex head plugs are also sold if you don't need the inside threads
installing the insert The insert threads it easily and I'm wondering how you guys installed them to keep them from spinning during future removal? Thread lock? But, what it you want to get the insert out later?
The tubes you're talking about aren't EGR related. These are part of the Thermactor Air injection system. Threading bolts in is fine, the carbon from the exhaust will seal then threads in no time.
