So where are the engine Guru's at? this block clearly says ETTE, it is not a 7 in the second digit, what is it? I can find nothing about it other than other posts saying they can find nothing about it, I have Googled it and searched alot of other forums...nothing, every one says it should be a 7 as the second digit but it's not, it is not an 87 roller block, it has V belts on it, the distributor along with the carb are all thats missing, it has 5/8 plugs in it also, I will go back in the morning to look it over again but I'm sure if someone that knows what it is spots it they will snag it before I even know what it is,

Can you read the numbers from the heads? Think they can be seen on the bottom side without removing the heads. Maybe have to have the exhaust manifolds off?

Have you tried posting a question here? http://sbftech.com/ Some very knowledgable guys there too.

Tomorrow I am going back and try for more info, taking a camera if I can remember it lol, also gonna look at the harmonic balancer to see if it's three bolts or four.
BTW I did join the sbftech forum but I gotta wait for approval.

Take a mirror to read the numbers on the heads unless you can get the engine upside down.

V belts mean nothing, my '88 roller motor was dressed to look like the original '75 302 in my Maverick. If you can, pull the intake & check for roller valvetrain. 5/8 plug heads could've/probably have been swapped onto the motor. The only old 302 (other than the boss) that got factory 4bbl was '68, and it would be a cast intake. '83-85 5.0 had aluminum factory 4bbl intakes. The "E" tells it's an '80s block, I'd think if it wasn't a roller it wouldn't be any better than most 302 blocks out there.

I would almost be willing to bet if you took the intake off you would find a big oval in the lifter gally that reads "Heco En Mexico"
