I think he was referring to the seals not being ok, and you said that they werent.

But, I wouldn't call you "wrong" over the thing

And the o rings I am refering to are the ones in an old used transmission..... thus my original post........and I am like you I only trust ones I know......ever look on the inside of an atsg manual?? Jerry Gott is the fella I trust.....you will find his name in any of them put out in the last 15 years. he is who I learned from.

WEll, I did fix the wife's C4 first..... But I will have mine built before it quits.
I am in the process of building it now. I am thinking I will have it configured for 500hp stage III. It will shift hard and fast but retain all the stock hard parts (modified of course) with the exception of a hardened input shaft. I haven't planned for a floor shifter - but it is a thought. I will be installing drains in the pan and converter and a rear lube kit and a roller #9.

I have a few of the ATSG manuals.... I don't use them much anymore but I keep them for reference. I have my own compilation of disassembly and assembly workbooks that I use to keep track of all the measurements that I use to calculate clearances for swapping in additional clutches. It also contains the details for the mods I use in my rebuilds.
Did you attend classes put on by Jerry or just read the manuals to learn?
I have attended a few classes at the local community colleges, trade schools and factory training. I have a fairly good grasp on the systems involved with the transmissions for the big three.... with a lot more hands-on practice with the Ford units up to the early 1990s.

Nope I'm friends with Jerry Gott. I worked with him before he went to atsg at his brothers transmission shop (on a side not he no longer works for atsg he opened his own shop 40 miles from here)
