    Hello I have a ticking sound in my engine can’t describe it. I talked with a friend he thinks it maybe my lifters but the noise is coming from under oil pan area? Any clues wud be appreciated

    Upload the video to youtube and share the link. There is a possibility it's an exhaust leak, that could sound like it's low on the engine and can mimic the sound of a lifter. When my header gaskets were starting to fail that was always my first though, time to adjust the valves.

    Thanx R Miller that cud be a source Because I can see they my Manifold is not sitting as securely as it shud be!!
    I’ll try that route before I take down the bottom Pan!!

    That doesn't sound like exhaust, it does sound like valve train but I'm also listening to it on an old android phone so I could be wrong.

    You engine has a mechanical lift cam. valves need to be adjusted ever so often.

    Agreed...

    Changing oil may improve oil pressure, but isn't going to help out of adj rocker arms.

    It definitely sounds like lifters. First, I would check your valves with a feeler and adjust accordingly. Might correct the issue. If not, they are available to replace and not expensive. You will need a lifter removal tool, however, as they sit way down in the head in this I6 engine unlike an overhead cam engine. Tool isn't expensive either.

    Thanx Constable! I’ll try to see if I can make that happen does the engine need to be pulled?? Those tools I don’t have!!
