When I ordered my emblems last week, I was never given any stock balances so, when I gave out the part number over the weekend, I had no clue how many would be available. I'm sure that, by lunch time, there would have been quite a few orders already taken in the morning hours. I would guess they will make more in order to keep a mininum balance.
When I talked to my parts guy, he said that when he checked in the morning, they showed 5, and since I had asked him to order 1, he thought since they only showed 5, he'd order 2, and by lunch, they showed 0. If there coming, they should be here tomorrow..we're not too far from Detroit.
I've got my guy checking as well. If I had to wait I wouldn't care...I just want to get the whole thing rolling. The sooner they are ordered the better chance I have of getting them. Actually maybe if more of us buy them, then they may be forced to get them back in stock again quicker. Order guys...order!!!
I wonder if the European Escape (aka Maverick) was built in Kansas, where the Escape has been built since it's debut? If it was, that could explain why the Detroit parts ware house would have the parts..unless they ship Ford parts from there worldwide? After reading this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Escape I'd say it wasn't built here.
Your link does mention that the Maverick/Escape was being assembled at plants in Ohio and Missouri among other plants all over the world. Being able to buy the emblem at a North American Ford dealership even surprised the parts men. They said that usually doesn't happen with parts destined for over seas sales. That was when I started hoping for the best that I even got my first order in but everything seemed fine. Hey Dave, speaking of assembly plants (St Thomas)
German Wikipedia states some other facts, built from 93 to 99 - same as Nissan Terrano, and points to an assembly plant in spain...
Well, since my emblem orders both took only 2 days to arrive, today may be a good day for folks that ordered these emblems on Monday. I'm thinking that sometime after 9 AM in the eastern time zone, phone calls from Ford dealers should start coming.
