I wouldn't even consider changing gears on a car that will very likely end up with another cam later on. Tires are an easy swap and that'll surely help on the big end where Dan's running out of steam. That little cam can't pull a shorter final gear and would likely be much happier out the back door with slightly taller ones. Unless the 60 foot really suffers.. there's more time to be made up there too.

Also consider that taller tires have better rpm recovery similar to a heavier flywheel. Not a bad thing for drag racing and even better when you're talking boost pressure consistency.

I know many Mustang guys around the Saint Paul street racing scene and they've tried almost everything twice. The one's who cling to stock cams for longer periods seem to like the "handicap status" they get from running one. The faster cars always have aftermarket stuff once they realize the 30-50 horses they're leaving on the table by running one. Especially with boost and aftermarket heads.

Anywho.. I enjoyed the vids. Keeps me dreaming about doing a dual setup housed in the trunk with a large single outlet coming out of the filler cap location. :burnout:

I tried changing tires and gears when it was n/a. Went from 3.73/26" to 4.11/28". And went slower even tho it is roughly the same final drive. I've always been a fan of reducing as much rotating wright as possible. And there are alot of big cams with alot of love separation that sound stock enemy if they aren't. And all I can say about the dreaming of turbos is do it. You will never be happier. And thanks to all the people that like what I have. It's a pretty simple combo that works well. Coming soon will be the dart block 347 and 88mm

arr you using an efi mustang tank or? ok see your carbed..did you sump tank?
thing about turbo cars is that they dont need much gear
stock 3.00 ratio would be all it really needs..puts extra load on engine which spools turbos quicker
