I LOVE the car ...but I found it a little odd that it was restored with new type AutoMeter guages ,Carpet, and that it has Electric windows and street tires on back instead of slicks. I would have thought that it would have a set of stewert Warners in it ,with Maybe a SUN or Rotunda tach, metal floor, and roll up windows or maybe strap window lifts in it, with slicks out back. Just an Observation I
Just another observation when you look at the shock tower mod it is crazy that they would stay with the stock upper control arms back when they built these. Maybe a rule about suspension and there is not much support to those shock towers like I would have thought, I guess bu moving them out that far the springs are setting straight up or maybe even kicked out a little at the top, maybe it doesn't try to push them in on that motor. Very cool car though, I bet it would about make you s&#@ you pants at a full speed pass.
the motor plate my be why they are not concerned about the shock towers....just an observation... ...Frank...:Handshake

You guys gotta check out the old photos in this forum! Tons of racing Mavericks and a few Comets! http://www.oldhippie.com/forums/index.php/topic,3195.0.html 23 pages and lots of great pics!
Mike, I think I linked the wrong thread. This is the one with all the Mavericks. Sorry bout that. http://www.oldhippie.com/forums/index.php/topic,3195.0.html
LOL ... I was wondering what the heck you were talking about in that other thread .. there was like only 1 Maverick ...
So apparently, that Maverick was ran by the same guy that raced that neat old Falcon that was in the swap meet area: http://www.georgiadragracing.com/photos/gdrphoto/GDR-00290.html
Yeah, I know. I looked thru some of the other threads he has. Man...there are hundreds of old pics there. Lots of the cars we saw at Ford South last year and many more. I just spent about 2 hours looking around. Very cool!
