Thanks everybody! So I've seen it in the daylight and I still like it. The finish has some orange peel that may or may not rub out, but it will certainly do just fine until it's time to repaint the car. Hotrod1991, I'll definitely see what I can do about some better pics as soon as I can. Weather has been wet and cold lately, and the car needs severe attention from a water hose first... b_ryce70Mav, you are exactly right. That's just the big soft universal weatherstripping from Auto Zone. I had to trim it a little bit to accomodate the frame of the hood, so I could slip it between the sheet metal and the frame, but otherwise it's just stuck on using the adhesive backing, seems pretty solid. On the breather lid, (K&N Xstream) I used Loctite heavy duty 2-sided tape between the lid and the weatherstripping, because I figured the adhesive would be more prone to let go on the lid. Together the weatherstrips on the hood and lid meet up just right and seal the scoop to the breather. The scoop is a Mustang II reproduction bought on Ebay. This one, bought from this seller. The seller seems to have some really good prices on a selection of various fiberglass parts. I'm really tempted to check out their $80 chin spoiler, since this scoop is pretty good. I finished it up with some edge trim located on the "sticker, skull and neon" aisle at the 'Zone. It's just a roll of u-grooved PVC. I ran that along the edge between the scoop and the hood, to clean up the look and seal it further. Had to heat it up a little at the corners to make it smooth. And the "302" emblems are reproductions of the type Ford used on various things such as the Mach 1. Same idea with the grille...
Looks really clean, I'll definitely be stealing some of your ideas. Unfortunately I don't think the scoop will clear my air cleaner.

Eventually I'm going to have to point a real camera at it. And I've definitely noticed a difference in performance! I might be hallucinating but I even think it's had an effect on the exhaust sound. Will be interesting to see what it did for my fuel mileage, because I'm using noticeably less pedal in the highway.

Don't know if this is your daily driver, but are you worried about rain getting in? I've thought about making my scoop functional but I keep thinking about getting caught in a rainstorm somewhere and hydrolocking the engine.
It is a daily driver, and thus far rain hasn't been a problem. Even been through carwashes with it. Yes, I'm sure the engine sucks a little water every now and then, but not enough to hurt it. In fact, when the water beads up on the hood you can watch what happens. it's weird. I'll go down the highway with it, then look at the water on the hood, and I see there are still beads directly in front of the scoop but streaks all around it. I'm not a fluid dynamics expert and I don't have a wind tunnel, but here's what I think is happening: The engine doesn't suck enough air to consume all the wind that's coming into the scoop, especially while cruising on the highway, so it creates a higher pressure area inside the scoop and in front of it. And that air isn't moving fast enough to blow the beads of water into the scoop. (If the scoop wasn't sealed to the breather this probably wouldn't happen.)
