So, the top bracket could come from any of a number of junkyard cars with a similar sized radiator? Any other suggestions for cars that would most likely fit, that would be easy to find in the average junk yard?

If you can't find any top brackets in the junkyard, you can always go to Home Depot and by the 1" Wide X 1/8" Thick Aluminum Flat Strap.

The Aluminum is easy enough to bend into what ever geometry you need (within reason - say a 90 or "double 90" Z shape).

Once you have the shape you need, drill a couple of holes in the straps for self-tapping screws to go through and then anchor them to where ever it's convenient.

I also used soft "bumpers" in places where the radiator might vibrate and rub against any steel.

(of course I used healthier screws)

    Good luck.

    Good ideas!!!

I was going to hit a junkyard today out in Liberty that has some older cars, but we were working cows on the ranch until almost dark, and never got a chance to get out there. Maybe next weekend, after I have the radiator and a better idea of what I will need...

Maverick1970 sent me about 10 pictures by email, showing his and a couple other mavs with the same (or similar) radiators, with close-ups of the bottom and top mounting areas, giving me 3 or 4 different ideas to choose from...

    Thanks 1970 (y)

If anyone is interested, I can post them to the forum gallery, but I think some of them may already be there.

I will also post progress and finished pics on my website for future reference...
