Heading to Atlanta and Gatlingburg for vacation and a bunch of my parts still haven't arrived. I've only got about 1/3 of the interior kit...looks like when you order the "kit" they just drop ship everything from all over the place. I sort of expected 1 shipment like my frt end kit came.

Still not much to update, but here's the saddle door panels.

I never thought about Highland Green with saddle interior till I saw this survivor on eBay and fell in love with the color combination. I've only seen this combination in convertibles.

The best part of this story is that you KEPT it all these years.....even through rough times.....I've never been able to do that. Still have the Comet too?

Yeah the Cyclone is outside covered up with a tarp. I'm going to get a carport soon to put it under for now. I'll get around to it one day.

Finally, after a month or so I received the last pieces of the interior kit...the seat covers.

Looking back on my 68 GT coupe, it had really light tan interior. I guess there were 2 shades of tan??

Anyway this project won't be going very fast. I plan on shifting back to my Maverick for awhile.

Maybe I can get this thread going again. Just to speed things up, I desided to buy a 70,000 mile 75 V8 Comet to use as a donor car to get the Mustang going. I runs and shifts great so I'm going to yank the motor and trans out, freshen it up a bit and drop them into the Mustang. I'll probably go ahead and use the Maverick dsic brakes also. I can always use the Scarebird conversion on my Maverick.

I realize that the 75 model V8 is no power house, but I just want to get this car going. I can use the 5.0L and toploader in my Cyclone later on too.

The Comet finally arrived and I had a chance to look it over. Engine and transmission should work out fine. The engine will need a ton of stuff removed like A/C, p/stg and smog. May have to find some 1 groove pulleys. Disc brakes are in great shape. Philco AM/FM radio works well so that might go in the Mustang. Nice jack and handle...I think the Mustang is missing those.

Looks like all I will use off this car for my Maverick is the dash pad, windshield and a few interior items.

Still a little chilly to be working on stripping the Comet though I did manage to get a few trim items off and list on ebay.

I got an email from Advance Auto parts for a discount and free shipping promo code so I ordered a new radiator for the Mustang for $149. The one I got from them for my Maverick was very nice.

I also got a set of single groove pulleys for the 302 and a Holley 600 from members here.

Pulleys came in. A bit too rusty but notice anything unusual?

Yep. Worse than the pics show. I had hoped these would be usable.

I also think I need to change the oil pan. Luckily my dad told me the engine I took out of the Mustang when I was a kid is still laying in the garage. I need to go get it and see if anything else is on it that I'll need.

Got my new radiator in and started thinking, the Comet donor 302 has a left side outlet water pump. A 68 Mustang has a rt outlet. :(

Luckily it will be an easy return at the local Advance Auto and from what I see, I just need to order a V8 Maverick radiator. Measurements appear to be the same.
