the mustang will turn out really nice with the green and saddle color combo.

that comet looks like its in decent shape. would make a great parts car for someone when youre done. and youre right smack dab in the middle of all of the other mav/comet guys so you should have no problem getting rid of whats left.
is the grill on the comet in good shape? Ive been looking for one that isnt broken anywhere. Im considering looking into having one made but kinda scared to ask what one would charge to make one.

The grill is broke but I think I saw a good one for $99 here or on eBay.

Still getting parts together while waiting for the weather to warm up. New radiator came in. Ordered some little stuff like front brake pads for the Maverick disc swap, radiator hoses and an air filter element for the Cobra air cleaner.

I'm not going to use the Scarebird disc conversion now since I have the Maverick disc brakes but I'll save it for another project.

No luck on anymore pulleys though. I may just go with aftermarket ones. Also second guessing the automatic. It might be easier for now just to put the 4 speed back in it.

I have given it a lot of thought, but I think I'm selling original Shelby fiberglass for the car and buying reproduction pieces. The genuine stuff won't really add any value to the car plus it will give me several thousand dollars to spend on the car. I've got a few solid offers but no cash in hand yet. Time will tell.

Well I found a buyer for the front end fiberglass and hardware. Since the fiberglass was nearly nos Shelby items (actually what they call service parts since they were sold over the counter) I got quite a chunk of change. A pretty big chunk.

Then I ran across an old pic of the car. I had forgot or never knew that it had a 67 Shelby nose on it. That got me thinking, fix it back as it was when dad bought it or just another clone. Since maybe 90% of the Shelby owners I've met are total A holes I decided to fix it up as the frankenstein Shelby'ized Mustang like it was. I'd rather have no association with Shelby owners and give them the chance to rip the car as a fake, clone or whatever. But I must say the guy that bought the parts was really cool, a real hands on car guy. Not a white collar car trader.

So I ordered a 67 nose and 67 hood (I really don't care for the 67 nose and 68 hood combo it had). It's not going to have Shelby emblems and I can always blame the mods on the first owner who did it in the early 70s. (y)

Oh and I am going to steal an idea from here. Since I'm no longer trying to make it look like a 68 Shelby clone, I've bought some 64 T-Bird taillamp bezels to open up the look of the rear. I had 65 bezels (like a 68 Shelby had) but I really like this look.

I listed my new Cragars and tires on Craigslist. I saw a Mustang with 17" wheels and fell in love. If I can get most of my money back, I'm going with 17s. If not my 15s will have to do.

I have to agree that that is a look worth borrowing.

I think those tailights are the first none maverick lights that I actually like.

I found a nice 64 Thunderbird bezel on ebay and searched for a second. I ended up getting a complete assembly for about the same price.

For the front end fiberglass, I did some reading and went with Stang Aholics. Their frt end and hood has some improvements over original and I like the upgraded headlamp buckets. They make it much easier to install the buckets.

Just a FYI, that scarebird kit will not fit a Maverick.
