Absolutely.. Most paints shouldn't be waxed right away, I have seen paint that was waxed too soon and it was a real mess

I'll hold off then on the waxing.

By the way, I hate remote mirrors now. The retainer on the back of the adjuster fell down into the door. My arms are too short and too big around to reach it. So, now I have a 1" hole on the inside of my door. I'm going to have to find/make a new retainer for it.

I did get some of the chrome back on but I can't take any decent pictures b/c my dad forgot to disconnect the battery cable when he drove it back into the garage after wet sanding. So now the battery's dead and the sun is the best light for taking pics. I can't win?!

Oh well. I'll work on it some more this weekend and MAYBE I can get the bumpers, grille, and door panels back on. Maybe even get some more pictures!

I'm glad you all like it as much as I do!

Andrew, get one of those magnetic retriever tools, that will get the piece out of the door.

Just finished putting the chrome back on and at least got the rear bumper back on. Of course, there are some small touch-up spots I'll need to fix. Putting that chrome back on is no picnic and it scratched the paint a little bit here and there. Thank goodness I have some paint left over!

I have to paint the plastic/vinyl thing that sits over the front bumper yet. I bought some silver paint for it that is flexible. After I paint that I'll put the front bumper back on. Tomorrow? We'll see.

Also, how does that plastic piece come off? I can't seem to locate any bolts/screws that hold it on. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? Thanks for your feedback on my paint job. Have waited a long time for this and very happy with it! Can't wait to take it to my first car show! (At least for this car. My green 4-door made its way to two car shows:))

I'm still wondering whether or not to do the V8 swap. The 200 six runs great and gets fairly good gas mileage. (22-24 mpg, highway?) I figure why should I spend $600+ more after just getting it painted. I'm also worried if I do I'll mess up the paint job installing it. I think I'll just leave it alone. Though, I think I'll go ahead and get the engine (since I'm getting a good deal from my brother). If I decide not to go through with it, I can always sell it. Right?

Got the bumpers, grille, and the rest of the chrome on this morning. Drove it to the store I work at. Some guy with a 65 Mustang parked next to my car and he looked at it real well! Sure is a wierd, new feeling for me: I'm usually the one looking at other classic cars. It's pretty neat to see someone looking at MY car for a change!
