I could have had it back as early as last week, but we can't get down there until mid-March. I am anxious. In the meantime though we are using the time to accumulate motor parts so no time is wasted.
I knew that you just couldn't resist! Just a good guess. Don't you want to make sure mine rolls straight and stays together at 135 mph first? I have faith in them though, they have been great to work with and willing to make any changes needed.
Yes, I really do want to hear that yours rolls straight at 135. Can you say guinea pig? :evilsmile At $3000, I also am very interested. I showed this thread to a couple of the local shops that work with Mustangs. A lot of interest here in San Diego amongst the classic Ford crowd. Thanks for getting this project started and for sharing your results. You may very well make AJE Racing quite a bit of money. Ask them how many K-member kits they have to sell because of you for you to get yours for free.
I picked up my Maverick finally last weekend. It is beautiful. Really, no new pictures. They have already sold 3 kits since mine(I only know where one of those are...) They changed the K member in their general kits so they are not Maverick specific, they can fit Mustangs, Falcons, etc., it is just a matter of where the bolt holes are. Right now all I can do is roll it around flintstone style and turn the steering wheel. It will be nice to start working on that project again.
I got my kit and started to installl..What a friggin nitemare..Parts missing..No instructions..Got shipped parts a lil at a time...I call the tech line and all I get is leave a message...I really dont like the way the struts install..Theres no way to get a cotter pin thru the castle nut...Oh yea also no support bearing for the steering shaft..But hey what do you expect for 3500 and a 10 week wait... there is more just o upset to post it all..Will it be a nice set up,,sure is the customer service what it should be ,,, Not even close..
Sorry to hear that, they were always very good to talk to and responded well to me both by phone and email. Did you try to email them?
It gets better..Lots of issues with this kit..If you dont own a fab shop dont bother..apparently 3500 dollars gets you a half ass job and piss poor engineering and nothing that actually fits together.. So far Ive had to redo... Motor mounts didnt fit wrong width for the perches No hole to access the cotter pin for the castle nut for the lower ball joint in the strut No bearing for the steering shaft( found it at grainger) No instructions No phone call back for tech support ..after 5 calls with messages Holes in K member did not line up with mounting holes for bolts to install K member... No bolts for mounting the K member wrong size spacers for fram reionforcements No plates for the shock towers as per Anthony were included Botton of struts not powder coated as they were supposed to be.. Wrong struts sent with coil overs..still waiting on my Double adj koni's 450.00 upgrade.. really a piss poor design on the caster camber plates..I had to modify them so I could feel safe driving my car... Im sure there will be more...Im going to call them again tommorrow before I get more vocal on bigger websites..But dont buy anything from this guy..their a joke in my book...
Okibono, It's been a while, getting settled into a new job and all, but I was referring to wanting a set of roller spring perches as mentioned on page one of this thread. That was some time ago, but I still could use the perches. Speedy
