That car is fast. With my old 302 and 9 inch mickey's I only mustard a 7.71 and that was with open exhaust and I know my car was/is lighter than yours.......you got a real nice motor and a very sharp car.....once you get it all lined out you should be well in the mid 7's if not quicker!

    WAY TO GO :bananaman

I always thought if a C4 was in second gear, when placed in second gear, it went nowhere else? Like, it takes out in second, stays in second???

Exactly Dan, my prob is it shifts out of second prematurely as if it was in Drive but I'm manually shifting it so it should stay in second until I shift it.

John mid 7's is all I want out of the car, once it's there it's getting semi-retired from the strip, oh I'll take it every now and then because I like it so much, but it's being built as a street car, you see all these cars that sound good and may have dual exhaust but there bite can't live up to there bark, this will live up to it's bark, once the motor is done, I'm moving on to the body ,paint and interior, I've got a lot of stuff set aside for this and I'll be spending the winter months working at it. If all I was wanting was speed I could easily drop a bigger cam in but I wanted a gentle lope at idle.
Geez I can be long winded when it comes to these cars...whew;)

Which trannies are the ones you can shift into 2nd then back down to 1st to keep it in 2nd gear longer? I know I could do this on my '79 LTD and '90 Mustang.

    Great times, Rick. Grats! (y)

Stefan Thanks for posting that for me...I had dialed in half a tenth too low for that lane.
I lost the coin toss for lane choice and had dropped a 1/2 a tenth on each of my previous practice runs in the left lane. I dialed in a 7.90 and should have dialed a 7.93 as I ran a 7.94 and lost...the mustang was a 6.10 car:(
