    Thank you, This is only step one... I still got to figure out what to do about my rear end. figure out my speedo driven gear (which type to get auto type or manual type)... figure out if I can get the old trans out myself with the tools I have and the new one in... timing of everything... space to do it.... aaagggghhhh.... I'm thinking about to many things at one time... sorry for ranting, and thank for the info.

    You will need at least a 3:55 gear to make the overdrive work well without lugging the engine. The speedo gear you can get from any mustang resto house, and use the stock speedo cable. You will also need a new crossmember, or modify the old one, as the trans is a bit longer. Also, you need to take a look at the drive shaft, to see if it needs shortened. I used my stock one with no issues and no mods. Good luck!

    would I need a automatic gear for the cable or a manual gear and use it with my auto cable? thanks.

    They are all the same. Your stock cable will work, just get the gear for the rear end ratio that you have.
