can you post the timeslip up. I personally have never seen a car do good at the track with an edelbrock carb. The converter seems to be tight and the 60ft is terrible. I would expect a mid 1.70 60ft and the car should be in the mid 12's with the combo you have with a different carb and converter
Fordmaster169, That was only half of the story, I tried to get it with an "easy-out" and broke that off in the block as well....................it's now time for me to call "The Bolt Removal Guy"...................and yes, I had more than three glasses.
OH no. Dont that once to often. Last one I did our machinist came over and broke up the easy out then did the removal. Took hours. He told me not to do anymore. Just call him its easier this way.
Ok my slip... Reaction... .4344 60Ft----2.2384 330----5.9858 1/8 et----9.0159 1/8 mph 81.43 1000 et 11.6428 1/4 et----13.9120 1/4,----96.13
My cousins full weight 93 gt hatch has a flat top 306 with an f303 cam, gt40 heads, stock headers and a explorer intake, aftermarket clutch with a stock t5 goes 8.50's at 82 in the 1/8 with a 1.90 60ft leaving at 5k on bone stock suspension with old old 26x10 et drags
Good advice...but a quicker Reaction Time will not make a difference in his ET. Has no bearing on it. ET doesn't start until the beam is broken...RT is just the time diffence between when you COULD have left, and when you DID lol. A good example of this is if you watch qualifying for fuel classes on TV...often, they will not leave right when the tree goes green...they have horrible RT's...but their ET is still the same as if they made a competition pass... Just some info...
It doesn't matter if you have a .001 or a 1.001 reaction time....it will not change your ET printed on your time slip at all. There is NO corelation to Reaction Time and Elapsed Time whatsoever. If you don't believe me...next time you go to the track...intentionally be dead late on the tree...wait until you see a whole lot of the green...and then run it out like a normal run. ET will be what it's supposed to normally be. Your time does not start when the light turns green...it starts when you break the beams. Now 60 foot time is a whole other story lol. Get that down, and consistent, and you can go rounds. And going rounds is what it's all about. Consistent 60' times is one of, if not THE, most important times to try to get consistent if you want to race and win.
