Well the teacher said the "kids" are literally running into class to work on the old mav. He divided the car down the middle, one side to the 2nd year, other side to 1st year students. Winning side gets BBQ, loser gets workbooks!

Didnt see if you mentioned it....what are you doing with the tail light holes? I wish the kids here were working on mine that fast...it like pulling teeth to get them to do anything. I have been doing a lot of the work myself after hours.

Will only have a single 6-1/2" oval LED light purchased at a local truck stop. The metal shop is making a bezel for it. It'll go in the center. Gas filler neck hole will be filled. Car is half black primer as of today. I'll post picture when it's all black.

    MIB-Mav in Black

It looks like the 1st year students are whippin up on the 2nd year guys! Flat black gives it that stealthy night fighter / recon thing. With tests it looks like it'll be about 2 weeks to finish. Maybe 2 weeks longer if the school bond passes and they get a new paint booth.

Well no changes or progress this week due to tests. A bond issue failed in part because superintendant had a hidden agenda that was discovered by media at the last minute. Now they are securing a loan to buy a new paint booth. Teacher says they already have next years class full, he's expecting more work for the kids. Wants me to bring in the big block Mav, currently under construction, for next years class. Surprisingly the kids havn't lost interest in the project. After the black primer was applied they found a couple more body blems and are reworking the rear wheel well openings cause they didn't like the way they turned out the first time. Now I gotta have surgery to repair my shoulder on 3/4. Lousey timing. Doc says I could be down for 3-4 months. I figure 1-2 months cause doctors are always conservative. Oh well, maybe I'll get to race some day. I'll post pictures soon as they hit it with color.
