For those thinking of upgrading from a 6 banger, Ford Performace has a "module" available which includes a 305 HP Ecoboost 2.3 liter four with a with a Tremec T-56 complete with a Ford Performance Control Pack. Hate to see what it costs, but it would make for one crazy light weight package.

That would be perfect for a daily driver maverick. Light, good performance, good fuel mileage. I'm sure you'd have to make a custom cross member, like they did with the Underdog Maverick though

The Raptor 450 hp 500 tq 3.5 eco and the ten speed would be insane. Especially when tuned to the 700 range. That would be a package!

Just ordered a F-150 with the 375 version. I was surprised how well a 5,000 pound truck got going with that motor.

Coyote swap it! There's some guys swapping fox mustangs with the f150 5.0. tuned on e85 makes 450hp to the tires. The 2.3 stuff is neat but doesn't have the potential of the 5.0.

Not only that.. but that lighter weight would be further behind the front spindles. Less spring/bar/tire needed.. better ride and even more weight reduction in the process.

I do agree that nothing beats the sound of a V8 though. Bigger turbos on bigger engines = more fun too. :D

Yea, just don't expect it to last at that rating.

This would be a serious upgrade and a very cool one. I looked on the Ford Performance website and could not find the configuration you mention, but a 310 hp 2.3 EcoBoost for the Mustang rings in at $8,600, minus transmission.

I agree on the sound but I do have to admit, that Pantera ass monkey did sounded pretty sweet!

I've looked into it a little as well, it seems dropouts are for sale for under $2-3k, sometimes even with transmissions, however almost all are automatics.
Quicktime makes bell housings to fit a T56 or other trans and then the harness and ECM can be picked up separately from ford.
This is the route "Udog" went I believe.
