Found this in my trans sump…

    C4 auto trans. Anyone know if this is part of it or some random piece someone else dropped in the pan unrelated ?

    Just bought it & dropped all fluids so no idea yet. Not familiar with automatics.
    My friend checked the schematics for me & said it is not part of the tranny.

    1972 Comet GT clone 306 . 1969 Fairlane Cobra 428CJ 1988 T-Bird awaiting 331 ..
    Plug that keeps debris out of transmission till the dip tube is installed.

    I've never seen one with that long of stem, all I've seen had stems of maybe 1½". Those were pushed into pan when dip tube was installed.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    It's a plug, as described, from factory assembly. No issues....just leave it out.
