Looking to replace my wheels in the next week or two. I've seen all the 17x8 with 4 inch back spacing recommendations but the fr500 wheel I'm looking at is only available in 17x9. I have .5 inch spacers on the rear now with stock mustang Bullitt wheels. Sits pretty flush with the fender. With a 17x9 and removed spacers does anyone see an issue with fitment? I have an 8.8 explorer rear. Would moving the leaf springs in be an option to make them fit(something I've thought about doing already). Any information/input would be appreciated.

Here's a link to the wheels I'm looking at.

I have 18x9 front and 18x10 rear 255 35 18 front and 275 35 18 rear with .5" spacer front and 1.25" rear stock width axle I dont know how much wider the explorer rear is, I dont have any rub issues except for full lock rubs on the frame rail a little.

Heres a link to the same wheels I bought 94-04 mustang fitment and the are staggered so the rears have a lip where the fronts dont I the ones you ar looking at have the same offset front and rear. http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-9-10-Bla...273?hash=item41975ddcf9&vxp=mtr#ht_1726wt_961

Hmmm. Something to think about now. Was wanting to run an 18" staggered setup and didn't think they would fit. Have to do some measuring this week when I'm off a few days. Thanks for the information. The stance of yours is exactly what I'm after.

Yeah, the first link is after he lowered it. I prefer the higher stance in the second link.

A stock Explorer rear axle is 59 1/2" wide when measured wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface.

Did you have to do any fender/quarter panel mods to fit those wheels/tires? Everything I've read here says you would need to at least roll the fenders/quarters.

    Apparently I can't edit....

I wanted to add that you can narrow that Explorer axle to 56 5/8" and use two of the short axle shafts. Which makes it just an 1/8" wider than stock. Some members surely know this.

Yes to fit 275 in the rear you usually have to beat the inner wheelhouse on the front side of the tire Grabbergt did a writup on how to cut and add a section to make it look clean. Also I rolled the outer lip and pushed the lip out a little, may not be absolutely neccessary, also Ive got about 1/4" between the tire and leaf spring.

The front there was no modification
