Help! I'm missing the brackets that hold the front brake lines where the hardline meets the flex hose. I have a '70 converted to '74 discs. I would imagine '74 disc brackets would do it. So guys if anyone out there has a set collecting dust, I'd appreciate it. If nothing else maybe a set off of a Mustang/Granada might work with mods.
I made my own out of a piece of steel angle, the kind with the holes in it like an Erector set (anybody remember them? ). I used a template to draw the correct size hex shape around one of the predrilled holes, drilled the hole so it was just slightly smaller than the hex, then finished it to the final shape with a file. Took about 15 minutes apiece. Sounds kinda backyard but it was a late Saturday night and they worked out pretty good, plus the steel was galvinized.
Erector sets..........gotta love them. If your older like me, you'll remember they had open gear boxes. Great for trimming your finger nails.... and fingers. They could never get away with things like that today.
The brackets and mounting holes are different from 70 to 74. the 70 is longer and the little hole for the nub is farther out than the 74 so you could just bend in the little nub on the 74 bracket and put it in without a nub in the litle hole. It has worked fine so far for me. -todd
